4. How long have you been with PPC Protect, and what do you do here?
6 months. I’m a senior software engineer working on our click fraud prevention systems & architecture.
5. How did you come to work at PPC Protect?
I found them through a job agency that had a really good attitude to matching people to companies.
6. What is your favourite thing about working at PPC Protect?
The attitude of the company. They are all modest , intelligent and reasonable folk who work really hard, communicate really and have a very reasonable approach to all things/areas. They understand what is involved in software development and give you the space and time required ( which is not always the case with a lot of companies )
7. What do you do in your average day at PPC Protect?
Build new features ( end to end ) , fix bugs, plan data architecture, swim in data !
8. What educational background do you have?
Art / Sculpture / Electronics / Computer Science / Teaching
9. What work did you do before starting at PPC Protect?
I worked for the University of Edinburgh building a new system for temporary visitors to access the main library e-resources. Before this I worked as lead developer for a smart / dockeless bike hire SaaS company (joyride.city) building their bike hire system ( mobile app , socket server, rest api , database etc ). Before this I was a teacher of IB Diploma computer science in an international school and before that a teacher of electronics in a London high school .
10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
Most likely in the mirror ? but could be in photos also I guess ;)
I would like to be responsible for larger part/s of the overall system . Further my knowledge/experience in working with large scale systems (data processing). Introduce machine learning into our fraud detection system.
11. What do you want to achieve at PPC Protect?
Further develop myself as a software developer in all areas & continue to expand our machine learning capabilities.
12. What advice do you have for prospective candidates applying to PPC Protect?
Be willing to dive in deep and take part and responsibility in all areas of development.

I work from a converted Parcelforce courier van!

Road trip round highlands of scotland on motorbikes camping.
