It’s important to us that our customers & audience know exactly who they’re working with. Whilst we may sit behind computers for most of the day protecting your ads against fraud, we think it’s always nice to put a face to a name.
Without further ado, meet Matt, our new Head of People here at PPC Protect.
- What is your name?:
Matt
2. One quote that defines you as a person:
“Life is like a box of chocolates” … (I quite like Chocolate)
3. Your favourite picture of you:
4. How long have you been with PPC Protect, and what do you do here?
2nd day in and loving it so far! I’m our new Head of People, so looking after finding talented people to support our ambitious growth plans, plus managing all things HR & Culture!
5. How did you come to work at PPC Protect?
I worked in Agency Recruitment for 9 years, the last 2 of which I was pestering Segev/PPC Protect to be my client. He eventually gave in, I found a great VP Engineering, who’s joining us soon, and then pitched myself in as well. Fast-forward a few weeks and here I am!
6. What is your favourite thing about working at PPC Protect?
Hard to describe in my 2nd day, but the people have been amazing so far. Oh, the perks are crazy good!
7. What do you do in your average day at PPC Protect?
At the moment, the onboarding is really thorough (in a good way!) so taking up all of my time (and Neil’s haha). But eventually it’ll consist of finding and attracting the best people in Sales, Dev and Marketing to join our wonderful team.
8. What educational background do you have?
Over a decade ago now (feels so sad to write that), I completed a Degree in Criminology from Loughborough University, trying to follow my dream of becoming a Rugby Player. Then Uni Life happened…
9. What work did you do before starting at PPC Protect?
I spent 9 years working in Agency Recruitment (all Tech based) for a few organisations in London (lived there for 5 years) and then in Manchester (been here for 4).
10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
As an integral part of the (much-larger) team at PPC Protect… but with much less hair.
11. What do you want to achieve at PPC Protect?
To help find amazing people to support our ambitious growth plans, whilst also keeping our brilliant culture. I want to help establish the business as somewhere everyone wants to join and stay!
12. What advice do you have for prospective candidates applying to PPC Protect?
Honesty is absolutely key! Oh and don’t be afraid to share your ideas — we want people who want to add value!
13. Describe your working culture in three words?
Committed, ambitious, fun
14. One random fact about you?
I once won £15K on a football bet… by accident
15. What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
I spent 2 weeks in India for a close friend’s wedding — 1 week doing the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur) and then 1 week in Goa for his actual wedding. The whole thing was immense! Closely followed by a family trip to Benidorm… that was a laugh!
16. How do you define success?
Hitting goals and achieving something that matters, not just money. And to enjoy doing it
17. What is one thing you can’t live without?
I should say my Wife and Son… but during this pandemic it’s definitely been football!
18. Who would play you in a movie about your life?
I’d like to say Jason Statham… but it’d definitely be Vince Vaughan. Just for the height and terrible jokes!
19. Recommend something to do round where you live?
Amazing walks with the Peak District nearby … oh and it has a banging curry house!
20. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Definitely become fluent in another language… Spanish or French I think!
